Gypsies…

… Some gypsies (perhaps I should say “travelers”, but I like the word gypsy) have taken up camp on the grassy area opposite the office. This is private land and they should not be there, and apparently they come every year and it takes about 2 weeks to get the eviction order through.

Now when I say the word “Gypsy” no doubt you think of brightly painted caravans, horses and bearded men. Our traveling friends are nothing like this at all, a much better class of gypsy – perhaps even middle class gypsies.

They have huge caravans, some with French windows, they have many cars, including a Shogun, a new VW Golf and a Yaris, they are well dressed and clean looking, and this afternoon they were even playing golf on the grass!

I think they scared some of the people on the picket line today though (all 3 of them) as the line was focused away from the grassy area this time…

Talking about evictions I should be off to watch Big Brother, and hope that the public have some sense and that Michelle is on her way out!

…I had a lovely time in Bristol this week, thankyou for asking.

A realisation hit me a week ago, a thought so life changing that the course of my life could be altered. The thought is this That I have spend most of my life wearing fleeces, So I thought it was time to change, to move on, and buy a jacket.

So in Bristol this week, after deciding I did not want a blue denim jacket I ended up buying a blue denim jacket. I was not sure about the whole thing at first, but my friend confirmed that it looked good, and I think she was right. Although I have tested it in a few Bristol locations it has yet to get an outing in Exeter – tonight may be its first big test.

News other than the jacket – Two strike days at work at the end of the week, I will let you know how these go and perhaps give you some more pictures – Motor racing day tomorrow, with the Wiscombe Hill Climb and the Grand prix – I was sad to see Victor leave the Big Brother house last night, gosh it's a boring lot in there now – My digital Radio has a feature where it saves the 6 stations you listen to most into its memory, at the moment it has 6 Music, Radio 2, Virgin, Passion, Classic and Radio 3, How can Radio 3 be in there??? I don't think I have even tuned the radio to it!.

Out and about…

… Finally (and thanks to my parents) I have got a Digital Radio. The reception on it is perfect, and the range of stations good. Having so much choice is making me turn into a channel hopper though, 6 music to Virgin to Asian Network to Life to The Storm…

Logic…

… We are moving teams around at work, we need to fit the same people (plus one or two extras) into a new shaped space.

I don’t know if any of you like doing those Logic Problems you get in quiz books? If any of you are any good at them we need your help. It goes something like this…

Person A wants to sit by a window, and would like to be by person B, but the team leader does not want them by person G. They would rather not sit near person E.

Person B would like to move from person G, but likes person A, and likes facing towards a window.

Person C can not bear person E, but likes person G. They can not be sat under the air conditioning unit…

And so on, with 16 people!

This is getting silly…

… I arrived home this evening to find three cats in the house (I must remind you that I only own one).

They were hanging around the living room, house music up loud, beer cans strewn across the floor.* If Jasmine will invite her friends home I at least wish she would clear up.

Seriously it’s costing me a fortune in catfood.

*Ok, so I lied about the music, and the beer.

Boots…

…confusion reigns on the team today as we find out we will be moving to the other side of the office, and will have a new layout – which means sitting next to differant people – eek.

More confusion when the new person joining the team is discussed…
“She has brown hair” , “She is quite tall” , “Still not sure which one that is”.

To clarify I asked if it was the one with nice boots. The stunned look from certain members of the team suggested that they had misheard what I had said.

Take this cup from me…

Chairs and things…

…At work we had Workstation Assessment Training (A fancy name meaning how to sit on your chair). We had a lovely film to watch about how to sit at your desk (straight to video I would imagine), and mountains of forms to fill out.

Why is it when you watch these things you suddenly feel pains in your back that were never there before?

In other (almost) related news the mug of tea that Jon left on his desk before he went on holiday (well, to get married to be precise) has gone beyond the green stage, and into the mushroom floating on top stage.
