Weekends…

Written by neil on August 25, 2004 at 10:09 am in Uncategorized

…Last weekend was spent being very sociable. After having a very enjoyable evening in the Fire House with some friends I has not seen for a while we decided to drink some Gin back at Laura’s house, where she demonstrated the ability to demolish a table with one touch. The rest of us demonstrated our reflexes when it comes to grabbing full glasses of gin from a collapsing table – not a drop was spilt!

Saturday evening was spent “entertaining” a guest from London for the radio station, she was a lovely girl and we had fun, bumping into a few people I know and giving her a taste of “small town life”. I realised how lucky I am living here, having so many good friends and being rooted in a place.

I also enjoyed the fact that when I bumped into anyone I knew they we obviously thinking “Why is Neil with this attractive, jet black haired women?”

Finished work now for 1 week – Time to get prepared for Greenbelt this weekend!

sleep…

Written by neil on August 18, 2004 at 4:50 pm in Uncategorized

Got home yesterday, had something to eat then went to sleep at about 6.30pm. Suddenly woke up at 7.30pm in time to watch the special news report (goodness, was I shocked by those pictures at Boscastle – it must be less than 100 miles away from here!), then at about 8.15pm Classic Fm sent me to sleep again. Woke up at 9.30pm and did a bit of housework and chatting on the internet. sometime just before 11am I needed bed again – slept through to 7am…

I think I needed it.

Windmill…

… I have stuck the small foil/plastic windmill I bought in Hastings on the garden wall outside. It is currently spinning in the sun and looking most festive.

My listening is torn at the moment, can’t decide whether to listen to The Killers – Hot Fuss, or Juliet Turner – Seasons of the Hurricane, both are fantasic in very different ways (and the Juliet Turner one is quite topical!).

When not deciding between these two CDs I am loving my Digital radio. I bought a lead to attach it to my Hi-Fi, and now it sounds really fantastic.

Quick update on most listened to stations (according to the radio – in alphabetical order). 6 Music, BBC Radio 2, Classic, Core (new entry!), Virgin, Passion.

Weekend…

…I am so pleased that someone found this weblog searching on the words “Gypsy Shogun”

Most of this weekend has been spent in the pub, I have to admit it. There are some people you meet up with that afternoon drinking just seems to get out of hand. I will give my body a break now for a week and fill it only with healthful things.

Can’t believe that my week off is almost over, back to work in the morning. I am dreading the 200 pointless emails that will be waiting for me. Only 2 weeks to go until Greenbelt though :)

A short break…

Written by neil on August 12, 2004 at 8:20 pm in Uncategorized

Just had a nice few days in the South East, First seeing some friends new flat in London, and visiting Hampstead Heath and walking around in circles. Amazing veiws across London, amazing houses overlooking the park, and an amazing hollow tree that you could climb into (not that I did).

Then whizzed down to Hastings for a few days to stay with another friend, we had wonderful weather and we both looked lovely and tanned (although she looked more lovely and tanned than I did, It has to be said!). We spent serveral pounds in the amusement arcades (those blasted 2p machines), spent half a day searching for cans of Pimms (don’t ask) and a lot of time watering a newly laid lawn.

Back in Exeter now, but not back to work until Monday, although will have several radio shows to do at the weekend.

Next stop – Greenbelt :)

One day left…

Written by neil on August 5, 2004 at 9:16 pm in Uncategorized

One day left of work until i have a week off :) I will be spending some of the time in London, and some in Hastings. My train tickets just arrived this morning and there are 9 seperate tickets to make this possible.

One day left of Big Brother. Since my circumstances changed so radically it has been around to entertain me. What am I going to do when it ends? I may even get to bed early and stop shouting at the TV!
