Ancients… and Amani Zain…

Written by neil on March 30, 2005 at 8:28 pm in Uncategorized

…It’s my favourite programme on TV tonight, and I am overjoyed that my favourite woman on TV is part of tonights installment… the lovely, beautiful Amani Zain, I really cannot believe that she is not more famous than she is, so many smiles, so cool and clear voiced, and so pretty. Anyway, I digress, if all BBC educational programmes were as entertaining and well put together as this it would be a better world…

ahhh… Amani Zain…

Fingle…

…Lovely walk out at Fingle bridge yesterday, the weather stayed dry and it was not too busy. I forget how good it is to get out of the city sometimes.

Claire, Darren and me!

Shame it was back to work at normal today :(

Pushing taste…

I just remembered …Pin the jesus on the cross… you should be ashamed of yourselves… and trying to justify it as “thought-provoking” on your blog…

I am feeling a bit lonely on Sunday mornings doing my radio show, I unlock, play some records, don’t see anyone, and then lock up again. Anyone who would like to join me sometimes please let me know. Would be nice to have another voice on the air and someone else to chat to!

Off now to find some sunny corner of Devon, although I suspect all I will find is tourists…

Dr who…

…that was really supurb, and very funny, and still felt low budget, which is just what I hoped for!

and I did notice the BBC Wales at the end Chalky… which may account for the low budget.

4 days…

…4 days with now work! Went out on Thursday and had a few drinks with a work friend. We had an interesting discussion… if we could only save 10 people from the office in an explosion, which 10 would we save…

Last night had a lovely meal with friends, and played Millionaire and Pictionary – Today Exeter has been so sunny… in fact I have been in shorts and T-shirt all day! Had a lovely few beers and bite to eat on the quay.

Now I am preparing for the new series of Dr Who, I hope the hype is worth it (it will be at least worth it to see Billie…)

Early starts and cleaning…

…early start this morning to get to Steve and Sarah’s in time for the start of the Grand Prix. In car shots on a massive screen, class.

This afternoon was a major wash of the Panda car, it looks a nice shiny faded orange now.

Can it really be monday again tomorrow? oh well, short week I guess, hooray for Easter.

On the stereo this weekend… Firey Furnaces… Mistys Big Adventure… Mull Historical Society…

Misty Ludo…

…Mistys big adventure were fantastic, well worth sitting through a load of rubbis/average bands to see. Yes Nelly, they are mad! A show like none other, I will certainly be looking out for them playing again.

We have another strike at work next week. People are striking becuase they are extending the Civil Servant pension age to 65… er yes, in lline with the rest of the country… so what exactly are they complaining about??? More picket line fun on Wednesday!

3 of us have taken to playing Ludo during our lunch break. What a fantastic simple fun game it is, I find myself looking forward to each and every lunch hour now! Scores this week Neil 2, Gareth 2, Bolton 0… haha. looking now for a cheap giant outdoor Ludo to play during the summer.

The end bit of February and the first bit of March…

Written by neil on March 15, 2005 at 5:43 pm in Uncategorized

… Gosh it’s been a long time, I am very sorry!

Part of the problem was my computer giving up the ghost (not that I am saying it had a soul as such, merely a metaphorical ghost) and having to make my shiny new laptop become my computer, feel pretty set up now with the supurb open office (www.openoffice.org) and other bits making it do all the things I need it to do!

Part of the problem has been that I have been soooo busy, so here is a quick resume (how do you do the funny e with a thing on???) of the last few weeks…

Well I have seen a few bands, the supurb Clayhill (mello) at the phoenix, and the Doves (indie with a worrying prog rock edge) at the great hall (on my birthday!), Amparanio (latin) and have Misty’s Big Adventure (just strange) booked for tomorrow.

A few pubs, a few clubs, lots of trying not to spend too much and a wedding.

lots of work, a bit of radio and taking phonecalls for comic relief…

apart from that not a lot.
