Tosser…

…Pleased to say that someone found this blog by searching for “Tosser the Rabbit”, Did I also mention that Tosser got a Stage one slot at Trowbridge? A hard act for Ralph Mctell to follow.

Big Brother quote of the week. Derek to Eugene…

“You are the type of person people put on TV to laugh at”.

I hope Eugene wins, he genuinely looked upset at that comment.

I win…

…I think I managed to beat Wednesday in the end. Watched The Wedding Crashers last night, it was actually very funny despite my low expectations of the film. The only problem was that one of the characters reminded me of someone I know and I could not get the thought of them out of my head.

Sarah, your blog seems to be broken… perhaps not the most reliable way of communicating with you after all!

Clean…

…Well, I am clean now, and just about recovered! On reflection I enjoyed the weekend, and I must buy a Jim Moray CD when payday arrives (Friday, Woohoo).

Someone at work has a scoring system of if the day is beating him, or if he is beating the day. Perhaps a rather negative way of looking at things but quite fun to do. I think that the score for me today is Wednesday 3-0 Neil. Still time to catch up.

Smell…

…Just got back and I smell. I admit I have not washed properly since Thursday!

Had a great time at the festival, we worked backsatge on the mainstage in the end and was moving equipment round for the likes of Ralph McTell, Saw Doctors, Hayseed Dixie and The Proclaimers. On the last night we worked until 3am… but then the crew had free beer at the bar and we ended up going to bed as the sun rose!

Fun, but hard work, have been invited back next year but think I will think long and hard before saying yes, might be tempted just to go as a “punter” as the atmosphere was so good.

Folk weekend…

…The car is all packed to head off to Trowbridge for the weekend. A miracle will be taking place… 4 people and camping gear in a Fiat Panda.

The family tent has the curiously named Tosser the Rabbit, I kid you not.

Hot Hot Heat…

…Well, I managed to get a lot of sun yesterday, but was so hot last night I thought I was going to choke, windows and crtains open to let as much air in, but still way too hot!

Watched The Terminal last night, which was slow but enjoyable, Played cards and ate chinese and watched Little Britian lots on Saturday night, and Friday night in the pub. A good busy weekend and I am set to be busy every night now until the middle of next week! Looking forward to Trowbridge though, if the weather continues it should be fantastic!

Unemployment…

Written by neil on July 15, 2005 at 5:05 pm in Uncategorized

…It is strange to think that the only reason my job exists is because other people are unemployed. It feels a bit as though other peoples disadvantages are an advantage to me.

We “roll out” a new phase in the office next week, which means that some people will be doing a totally different type of work, the IT was tested today and it works, and we are due to take a whole new type of calls into the centre as of Monday.

All this means for me is that a few people around me won’t be doing the same job as me for a few hours each day, but it still feels almost exciting in the otherwise dull world of a call centre!

Water…

Written by neil on July 12, 2005 at 3:38 pm in Uncategorized

…Today is so boring that our afternoon break turned into a mini water fight, great fun! Amazing weather here in the West country, was sat outside until 11pm last night and not even slightly cold!

Poker tonight, as the driver I will be the most sober one, and hopefully that will give me the edge I need to clean up :)

July 7th…

…half the office used the events of yesterday as an excuse to spout their political views, blaming Blair, blaming foreigners, blaming Bush… Many people seemed so far removed from the events, perhaps they never venture east of Taunton except to fly from Gatwick to some Spanish resort once a year.

The rest of us just sat in shock.

Thanks…

…Thanks for the messages, I still can’t work out why they both died at the same time, but I have got over the shock now.

Went away camping last night to the South Hams, was really misty and rainy but had a great time anyway. Had a great meal in a pub and met a random couple who were very nice, and today went for a rather misty walk. Must go back when the weather is better as the area is amazing and only an hour away.
