…There seems to have been a re-categorisation of websites at work, and some that previously were accessible are now not, which is very annoying. I was hoping that Imbd might be put back on the allow list, but in fact it has just been re-categorised, I am now getting this message…

It took me about a year to find out what it actually was, no one seems to notice it is there, tucked between Tescos and KFC. It is the water tower for the old Digby Mental Hospital (as it was once called, before that it was the Exeter Lunatic Asylum!). A quick net search tells me it was built in 1886.
I decided the other day to have a wander around it and a closer look, and close up it is obvious what it was used for, you can still see the pipes inside. The pillars around the edge give it a feeling of being in a mini Cloisters, a tiny bit of peace in a car dominated retail park!

And I took a picture of this on the way home for lovers of slightly larger, more domestic animals… The Pooch Mobile Hydrobath!
… I caught one! I hope it is mouse number one of one.
I almost posted a picture, but I doubt you want to see pictures of mice at breakfast!
Seen two films the last few days, Crossing the Bridge on Saturday, which is a great documentry about the music scene in Istanbul, and how the East and the West meet and blend. More interesting than it sounds! And then last night we saw the much talked about Capote, which was a very harrowing portrait of an author whose passions overtake his morality. Both excellent films in very different ways!
People have been finding my blog via Chelly’s Teapot in the last day or so, I am not sure if I know you or not (sorry if you are someone I actually know really well, I just can’t tell from the blog), but it’s a great blog, and a good first few weeks of blogging!
Another mystery to me is the author of Out of Her Mind, who I suspect may have found me through the Exeter Cavern Club discussion forums, but why she decided to continue reading, and link to me really is unexplainable

This was one of my favourite of recent times (the fourth era of the cartoons of Dave), and sums up the way our house is trying to deal with rotas and bill paying and the like.
Is it really only Thursday? I am worn out and really don’t have the energy to carry me through 2 more days!
I bought a cheap flatscreen monitor (and they really are getting cheap) so am up and running at home now. This week has been a week of meals, 2 nights in a row for Ivonnes birthday. Ginos on Tuesday night, and Harrys last night. Both were excellent and I would not want to choose between them.
A rough cleaning rota has been drawn up for the house, and the bills have been allocated so each of us has responsibility for one area of billing. Hope it all works, shared houses seem to have such different systems of how to work things out, and none seem to work properly all the time!
